Joan Baez（琼·贝兹）被誉为“民谣女皇”。她的人生是一个传奇，作为民谣歌手、吉他演奏家和歌曲作者的她曾发行过八张黄金大碟，六次获得格莱美奖提名，而作为一位民权斗士与和平捍卫者，她更因为直接投身社会运动和举办无数筹款演出而赢得了人们的爱戴。
提到琼·贝兹，不能不提到民谣歌手鲍勃·迪伦。上个世纪60年代他们俩都活跃于反越战运动，惺惺相惜，无奈恋情不长，他们于1965年分手。后来琼为了纪念她的这段恋情，谱出了这首传世名曲《Diamonds and Rust》。尽管两人最后分道扬镳，他们的乐迷也已换过好几代，但记忆中的美好歌声却可以永远流传。
